The assembly of Z3s for the yearly photo is always one of the highlights of homecoming. However a very interesting thing happened this year, it rained. The rain was light but fairly consistent throughout the morning. Now you would think the rain would somehow lesson this event but something special happened, no one really cared.

The lawn outside the factory was thick and green (so no mud). There was a mix of umbrellas, rain coats, and people that really didn't mind being wet. Just before they started taking the photograph the rain stopped, a few of us even put the tops down for the picture (but right back up again afterwords).

In years past (when it was really hot) I saw the weather take its toll on owners, once the photo was complete there was a steady migration of people back to the hotels. This year the crowd stayed, the vendor tents were packed (Dinan tells me their best year ever). The amount of people watching cars go through the tech tent was double what I had seen in previous years. And there were owner conversations going on everywhere. In many ways I was reminded of the very first homecoming.
